Dodgers News: Los Angeles acquires Kevin Correia from Minnesota Twins

By on 12:46 AM

According to Phil Miller of the Star Tribune, the Minnesota Twins have sent right-handed pitcher Kevin Correia to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for a player to be named later.

Correia, 33, is 5-13 this season in 23 starts for the Twins with a 4.94 ERA. In 129.1 innings, the veteran pitcher has poor peripheral numbers that back-up his terrible ERA. His 4.24 K/9 is not good and he has a low ground ball percentage of just 41.5. His FIP of 4.36 suggests his performance could improve a bit in the upcoming months, but don't expect anything great from him down the stretch.

In his career, Correia is 74-91 with a 4.53 ERA in 1,380.2 innings pitched. He has spent time with the San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, Twins and now the Dodgers.
