Updated Canadiens News: PK Subban Officially Heads to Arbitration

By on 12:48 PM

No twelth hour deal was struck.

As I covered here, P.K. Subban has made it clear that he "wants to be a lifer" in Montreal.

As has been made clear to him, Montreal has a very different idea on his worth. Which I covered here.

The Hockey World waits with bated breath as the Canadian Press announced that Montreal and Subban have officially went into arbitration $3.25M apart, per their 9AM Eastern hearing this morning. The arbiter will make a binding decision on his worth, and whether over a one or two-year contract.

For a refresher on NHL arbitration works, please read Thomas Drance's beautiful cliff-notes rundown.

The Habs have $11.6M in cap-space for 2014-'15, according to CapGeek.
