Texans News: Houston signs Tyson Clabo

By on 9:45 AM

The Houston Texans have signed 32 year-old offensive tackle Tyson Clabo to a two-year, $2.4 million contract. The journeyman tackle will add much needed depth to the Texans' line just prior to the teams training camp.

Clabo will immediately add depth and could challenge Derek Newton for the starting right tackle spot. Newton has been announced as the starter, but he struggled mightily last season and could use some healthy competition.
A former Pro-Bowler for the Falcons in 2010, Clabo started 15 games for the Miami Dolphins last season, and is familiar with Texans offensive line coach Paul Dunn, which should make his transition relatively seamless.
