The Rays are "talking and willing" to trade Price, a Rays-connected source told Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.
If the Rays decide to trade Price, the team to keep an eye on would be the St. Louis Cardinals. Heyman reports that the Cardinals may offer top hitting prospect Oscar Taveras, pitcher Shelby Miller, and their competitive balance pick to the Rays in exchange for Price.
A Price trade is not imminent, though. Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com reports that "barring a dramatic turn" in trade talks, Price is expected to start tomorrow against the Milwaukee Brewers, who are also interested in him.
Price, 28, is having one of the best seasons of his career. In 22 starts so far this season, he has gone 11-7 with a 3.08 ERA and a 183/21 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
