The Baltimore Sun first reported the incident.
The police report said that when they entered scene, Smith was in the women's restroom at a bar with an intoxicated woman who was currently vomiting. Smith said he was assisting the woman, but when the police told him to step aside, he refused.
They finally arrested him for not complying with their commands. Smith wasn't too happy and said, "The only reason you arrested me is so you could get on the news."
After being issued a citation, Smith was released at 11:15 p.m.
Smith's arrest makes a total of five different Ravens players to be arrested this offseason. Those players include: Ray Rice (RB), Jah Reid (OL), Deonte Thompson (WR), Lorenzo Taliaferro (RB), and of course Jimmy Smith.
Baltimore exercised their fifth-year option on Smith earlier this offseason, one that keeps him at $6.5 million in 2015.
Although he's had a clean record in the NFL, his college days were full of trouble. The Ravens need Smith in order to help their needy defense. Smith is only getting better at his young age (almost 26), but this kind of stuff can slow him down. Don't expect anything big to come of this, just watch out in the future in case you hear more trouble from Smith.
