Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune initially reported interest in Ramirez, while SBN Lookout Landing reports on who might be looking and why. The main interest for the Mariners is obviously to gain some offensive help, which has been a weak point for them this season. The Brewers, on the other hand, haven't been getting much from starter Marco Estrada, who has an ERA just south of five at 4.96.
Ramirez has been talented in the past, but has been largely erratic for the Mariners during the 2014 season. He currently has a 4.58 ERA on the season and his last game came against Boston where he went 4.1 innings, threw 93 pitches and allowed two runs.
