Kevin Love Rumors: Are the Denver Nuggets the darkhorse in the Kevin Love race?

By on 7:30 AM

The Denver Nuggets were among the teams interested in trading for All-Star power forward, Kevin Love, but had their offer rebuffed by the Timberwolves last month. Now Denver seems to be sneaking their way back into the race, according to a report by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski
The Denver Nuggets have remained a strong contender for Love, offering a package that sources said has been the most appealing to Minnesota outside of the Cavaliers and a possible Golden State deal including Klay Thompson. So far, the Warriors have kept Thompson out of their offer to Minnesota.
As previously reported, the Chicago Bulls have renewed their interest in Kevin Love. Now the Nuggets seem to be making their way back onto the scene. Denver had offered Minnesota Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried and the 11th pick in the NBA draft, according to Chris Broussard. After apparently having that offer rebuffed by the Minnesota Timberwolves, little to no news have come out about Denver being interested in Love until now.

Kevin Love's main reason for wanting to leave Minnesota is the lack of playoff appearances the team has since Love joined the team. Love hasn't been in the playoffs since being drafted by the Wolves and now the frustration seems to have reached a boiling point. Love is also enticed with the opportunity of playing for a big market team like the Los Angeles Lakers or the New York Knicks.

Another option for Kevin Love has been joining "The King" LeBron James in Cleveland, along with Kyrie Irving, to form a new "big three". Golden State being another team that have put their names into the race by catching Minnesota's attention by offering a package of Klay Thompson and David Lee.

These teams mentioned have all made it clear that they will trade for Love without commitment on a long-term extension from Love. Although he might be traded within the coming weeks, he is expected to opt out no matter what and explore his options in free agency.
