Heat Rumors: Miami interested in Chris Douglas-Roberts

By on 11:09 PM

The Miami Heat are working hard to retool their roster in the wake of  the departure of super star LeBron James. The Heat have several open roster spots and one of those spots could go to free agent Chris Douglas-Roberts according to a report from the Miami Herald:

"Count Charlotte small forward/shooting guard Chris Douglas-Roberts among remaining free agents who interest the Heat."
Douglas-Roberts started out playing in the D-League last season but was eventually picked up by the Charlotte Bobcats. He played in 49 games and averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per contest. He also shot nearly 40 percent from the three-point line.

The Detroit native got his first taste of the playoffs last season and brought his shooting stroke. He shot 50 percent from the three-point line and averaged 9.5 points per game despite diminished minutes.

The Heat have not let the surprise departure of James slow them down. They signed veterans Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts, and Danny Granger in a attempt to continue the unprecedented success they've enjoyed over the last four seasons that have included four trips to the Finals.

Even with Deng, Granger, and Dwyane Wade on the roster, Miami is looking for someone to come off the bench who can play shooting guard and small forward according to the report.
