#Colts announced: Waived WR LaVon Brazill.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) July 11, 2014
LaVon Brazill was tagged with a minimum one-year suspension just last week after violating the NFL's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, and has been involved in other drug-related problems ever since his college days.
The sixth-round wideout came into the NFL in 2012 as a talented athlete who couldn't stay clean. He suffered a four-game suspension at the start of 2013, and after his most recent slip, the Colts said 'enough is enough.'
Indy has other pieces in the pass game. T.Y. Hilton's still the deep-threat. Da'Rick Rogers shows promise. Hakeem Nicks is a helpful addition. Dwayne Allen and Reggie Wayne are recovering well. And Coby Fleener has a strong skill set.
The Colts cut Brazill because they believe the team is better without him. His absence won't hurt the Colts. They're looking to brighter days ahead.
So long, Brazill.
