Back on June 10th we discussed the strong possibility of Andre Miller being brought back by the Washington Wizards to play out the final year of his contract. That possibility is now reported to be a certainty.
J. Michael of CSNWashington.com is reporting that Miller's agent has confirmed that the team will bring him back for the 2014-2015 season. The 38-year-old point guard will make $4.6 million next season to back up, and hopefully for the Wizards, mentor their young star John Wall. Miller will be entering his 16th year in the NBA and with that experience he'll be a steady veteran presence for a team whose two best players are both under 25 years of age. Last season, Miller only averaged 3.8 points and 3.5 assists in 14.7 minutes per game for the Wizards, but it was as recently as 2013 that he was an impact player for the Denver Nuggets. Miller even played crunch time minutes in the playoffs for that Denver team so he still could provide a spark off the bench for this team in close games this upcoming season.
