Wizards Rumors: Kevin Seraphin wants to re-sign

By on 10:34 PM

The Washington Wizards made some big steps forward in 2013-2014.  Not only did they make the playoffs for the first time since 2008 with a 44-38 record, but they also won their first round series over the Chicago Bulls.  As a young team on the rise that also includes veteran leaders like Marcin Gortat and Nenê in the front court, the Wizards should be a team to watch next season, and it sounds like Kevin Seraphin wants to continue to be a part of their success.

Brandon Parker of the Washington Post reports that Seraphin has shared his desire to re-sign with the Wizards this offseason.  When asked if he'd like to return next year, Seraphin gave the following quote:
For sure. But I want to play, too, so we’ll see.
Seraphin just got done with his fourth season in the NBA, all with the Wizards, and now becomes a restricted free agent.  If another team makes an offer for him, the Wizards will have the option to match the offer and keep him.  The Wizards have a number of players up for free agency, so he may not be their top priority when they consider who to keep or let walk, but flashes of his talent shown over his four years with the team added to the fact that he's only 24 work in his favor.
