The 10-year veteran said he was really impressed with the offensive line play during camp, and made a bold statement regarding his teammates on the defensive side of the ball.
"This is as fast of a defense I have seen since I have been here," he said.Considering he's been in a black and gold uniform for a decade now and has witnessed Pittsburgh defensive units that included the likes of Joey Porter, Casey Hampton, James Farrior, James Harrison and Troy Polamalu, I'd say that's quite the statement to make for such a young unit.
Roethlisberger also appears to be coming along nicely with offensive coordinator Todd Haley, despite obvious rifts between the two when Haley first arrived in 2012.
“There was an obvious growing period. You develop a relationship. I enjoy working with him. I think we have a good relationship now. You see it on the field and you will continue to see that when we get out there because my play will be better and the play-calling will really be better.”Between the 32-year-old quarterback taking his young receiving group on a trip to California to run routes together and the idea that Roethlisberger is happy with the way the offensive line and backfield performed during camp, Ben and Haley's offense looks to be making huge strides heading into the 2014 season.
