Per Arthur Staple:
In 162 regular season starts over three seasons, Nabby had a quality .910% save percentage and a respectable 2.59 goals against average with the Isles. He also backstopped the Islanders to their first playoff appears since before the Big Bang  the 2006-07 season when they lost to the Buffalo Sabres in the quarter finals.

Fun fact: Nabokov started in 41 of the Islanders 48 games in 2012-13, and even garnered Hart Trophy votes for league MVP. With five points, a single third-place vote, he placed 14th.

What lies ahead for the 39 year old is anybody's guess at this time. There's no indication of who may be interested in his services, and what Nabokov is demanding. One figures he'll challenge to be a "1B"-type at best, and more likely to be a backup.

Lastly, in case you aren't aware, the Islanders need to find a backup goalie of their own as Anders Nilsson signed with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL and Kevin Poulin is a RFA, per Mike Halford. But hey, at least they have Jaro Halak!
