Colorado Rockies, Michael Cuddyer in no hurry to re-sign

Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports that neither the Colorado Rockies nor Michael Cuddyer have interest in exploring a new contract at this time.

Saunders reminds us that, "Most teams, in fact, don't negotiate contracts after April, unless it's for a young, budding star they want to lock up for the long term." The defending NL batting champ is finishing up his three-year $31.5M deal this season.

Cuddyer, 35, told Saunders that, "he envisions playing two or three more seasons, but he's not really sure how long he'll play."

With all this uncertainty surrounding both parties, it's easy to understand that there likely isn't a new contract forthcoming. Which is just fine if you ask them.
