Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports that the 49ers are trying to trade James.
James' former college coach, Chip Kelly, is now the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and many fans and some media members have speculated they could try to trade for the former Oregon running back. Someone asked ESPN's Adam Caplan yesterday if they thought the Eagles would have interest in James:
Would surprise me. RT @kieranjwelsh: @caplannfl Hey Adam! Any news on if the Eagles might be interested trading for LaMichael James?

In a trade, the 49ers will likely only get a sixth or seventh round draft pick. Still only 24-years-old, James could still end up living to his second round draft status. He is a very talented running back who will succeed in the right system.
In 10 games with the 49ers last season, he carried the ball 12 times for 59 yards. In his career, he has carried the ball 39 times for 184 yards and zero touchdowns.
