Four more years, Mark Stuart stays in Winnipeg

By on 4:02 PM

The debate of whether or not it was time to make a big move in Winnipeg continues to rage on, and Mark Stuart will continue to be part of that discussion after agreeing to tack on four more seasons for $10.5 million.

Stuart's team-friendly $2.625 cap-hit starting next season means the Jets will have just under $52 million tied to 16 players, and with the cap expected to rise to about $71 million, the Jets should have plenty of room to augment their roster with.

The signing also means that for better or for worse, their defense-core of Tobias Enstrom, Dustin Byfuglien, Zack Bogosian, Grant Clitsome, and Jacob Trouba are all locked in for the foreseeable future.
