Dodgers Rumors: Javy Guerra to be traded?

By on 11:45 AM

Javy Guerra has been a career minor leaguer but he had his best season last year.  The Los Angeles Dodgers designated him for assignment on the 14th and took him off their 40-man roster.  There appears to be interest in him from across the league though.  Chris Cotillo tweets:

Last season, Guerra appeared in twenty-seven games at Triple-A, four starts, compiling a 3.66 ERA.  In his nine relief appearances for the Dodgers however, his ERA was a high 6.75.  He had a good Spring before his designation as well, pitching in eight innings, all relief appearances and picking up a 2.25 ERA.

Teams can always use pitching help, especially in the bullpen. The Dodgers will likely let him go for a very nominal fee, so don't be surprised to see him go in the next couple of weeks.  The Dodgers are already flush with talent at the major league level so I could see them letting him go for a minor leaguer.
