Broncos Rumors: Denver discussing contract extension with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

By on 3:48 PM

One of the more underrated signings of the 2013 offseason was the Denver Broncos adding cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. He was coming off of a bad season with the Philadelphia Eagles and signed a one-year, "prove it" type of deal.

The signing paid off big time and Rodgers-Cromartie was a huge success. Now a free agent, the two sides have discussed a contract extension most recently at the NFL Combine, according to Ross Jones of Fox Sports.

NFL Trade Rumors reports that the Broncos have said that they will allow all of their free agents to test the free agent market, so a deal will not happen before free agency begins March 11.

Rodgers-Cromartie will likely be a hot free agent and may not return to Denver. Last season, he had 33 tackles to go along with three interceptions with one of them returned for a touchdown.
