Elmore should be a good young option for the Athletics at Shortstop, off the bench, or at just about any other position. Even though the youngster has yet to play a full season in the MLB having played 30 games for Arizona in 2012 and then 52 games in Houston, he has played just about every position ranging from First Base, to Shortstop, to the Outfield and even trying out pitching along the way. In his two brief seasons, Elmore has had 42 hits in 188 plate appearances (.223 batting average). He is also pretty solid in the field having only 10 errors despite all the different positions he has played. Overall, Elmore should be a pretty good pickup for Oakland.
